Sign up online for a Free ATA Specialist council membership! Specialist councils organize annual conferences, produce publications, maintain websites and offer regional workshops and seminars in order to provide members with opportunities to share ideas and gather new information in specific specialty areas. 

February 23rd and 24th 2012 is the annual teacher's conference here in Medicine Hat.  As ATA members you are all encouraged to attend!  Schools will be closed and attending is of no extra cost  to you so seize this wonderful opportunity to keep current on the educational practices of the school district!  Check out http://www.seatca.ca/ in early February to find more information!

If you are interested in attending PD as a substitute teacher, I strongly suggest checking out www.sapdc.ca.  This website is the Southern Alberta Professional Development Consortium and offers courses that are open to anyone interested in enhancing their professional development knowledge.  The course costs seem reasonalbe and there are many online opportunities!
